close encounter

Yup. I auditioned with him a long while back. Delightfully strange dude. Truely a highlight of my short movie carreer. Niether of us ended up getting cast, and I left with a fat lip from his passionate flailing during the audition; and he invited me to his art opening that week. It was a smash.

His apartment was all black with bile green accents, on the top floor of a Hollywood highrise. I felt privledged to get a private tour.
saw his profile on Friendster, it looks legit.

Seeing as it was Crispin Glover's art opening, I would bet on "something else". Hehe. At least he strikes me as a "something else" type of guy. In the best of ways, indeed!

It was the stuff he showed on I believe, the Letterman show: intentionally crudely made little gobs of sculpted stuff, and childrens toys all messed up. Not in a sadistic way, really like an honest attempt at art by a disturbed child. I especially liked the "do Bee" piece he altered from romper room.
His earnest exitement over showing me the pieces in his home was so sweet. It made me wonder why I don't share my works with the same intensity. And the jam packed exhibit where he was simply mobbed he really did look like the frazzled young dad in Back to the Future that night.

Did you by chance see the legendary ob/gyn exam chair or jar of melted glass doll eyeballs in his place?
